I noticed recently on an eBay auction for a "1997/98 Mike Harder" Admirals jersey, that the nameplate font was significantly different from what we have seen on most 1993-1998 Milwaukee Admirals jerseys. Based on the Bauer tagging on the hem, the jersey is either a 1995/96 Trevor Sim or a 1996/97 Patrice Robitaille/Mike Harder jersey.
eBay: Mike Harder 1996/97 Milwaukee Admirals Jersey This is not the first time that a jersey with this style nameplate/font has shown up. A 1992/93 #18 Scott Robinson MSport jersey with a Trevor Sim nameplate was sold through Milt Byron's website, while I purchased a 1993/94 Bauer Alexander Galchenyuk from a dealer in Columbus. The only navy jersey seen with this nameplate is a 1991/92 Paul Guay, later restored with the original nameplate. The correct nameplate material is of a similar material of the jersey, with thin serged edges. These nameplates are of a more satin material with thicker serged edges and different font. As these jerseys typically had nameplates removed for the upcoming preseason, it appears likely that someone was adding these replica nameplates to increase the resale value of the jerseys. Another nuance from this era of jerseys is nameplates of differing players attached to jerseys, for example, a 1994/95 #39 Jim Hrivnak goalie jersey had a Steve Tuttle nameplate and a 1993/94 #33 Ladislav Tresl with a Patrice Robitaille nameplate attached. Do you have a jersey with one of these 'replica' nameplates or a differing nameplate? Would love to hear what else is out there.
