For the first time since the 2010/11 season, the Admirals jerseys are featuring a commemorative patch to celebrate the 50 year history of the team. Its been a rarity through the Admirals history to have commemorative patches on the jersey, besides the various sponsorship patches since the 1999/2000 season. A quick run-down of the patched Admirals jerseys: 1976/77: Featured a circular USHL patch on the right sleeve above the numbers. 1991/92: The Professional Hockey Players Association (PHPA) celebrated 25 years and most IHL and AHL teams wore a circular patch on their jerseys. 1994/95: The IHL celebrated their 50th anniversary with patches on the front of each team's jerseys. 1997/98: The PHPA again featured patches to celebrate their 30th anniversary. 2001/02: Like most AHL teams, the Admirals jerseys featured the flag of the United States, located on the right shoulder. 2005/06: The Admirals wore KS patches in remembrance of radio announcer Kyle Schultz. Additionally, when the team made the Calder Cup Finals, a patch to commemorate this occurrence was placed on the back hem. 2010/11: The AHL celebrated their 75th anniversary with patches on the back hem of each team's jerseys.
